Cullacott Farm is located close to the Devon and Cornwall borders and has been in the family for over 100 years. We have been running our holiday cottages on our beautiful farm in North Cornwall since 1997.
Five generations of our family have lived at Cullacott. John and Mary Mann, the first generation, arrived from West Cornwall in 1910. The flat bed wagon on which some of their furniture was transported is still in the open wagon house on the northern side of the cobbled courtyard.
Farming has changed radically since their days: we have moved through the mixed farm concept to specialising in beef and sheep production and now let the grass for grazing sheep and a few cattle.
John and Mary Cole are the current generation and their son, Richard, keeps some rare breed pigs on site. Oxford Sandy Blacks, a Gloucester Old Spot cross sow and a French Mangalilza which often have pretty little piglets to see. Richard and wife Tanya run an outside events and catering business providing marquees for weddings and other functions such as hog roasts, barbecues and outside mobile bars. Cullacott itself can be used as a wedding or party reception venue using Richard and Tanya's expertise.
Guests are welcome to roam the farm and are encouraged to explore the nature trails. Worksheets are provided for children to enable them to get the most out of the experience. For those interested there is an abundance of wildlife - birds, mammals and a wealth of flora. If you're lucky you might even see the resident barn owls. There's much to see and appreciate in this beautiful corner of Cornwall.
We like to promote local food and are happy to introduce our guests to local businesses who sell specialities of the area. We also provide a weekly list of events taking place in the vicinity which visitors might like to avail themselves of. Or you can read online what's on in North Cornwall.
We run Cullacott Holidays as a family business, from time to time involving all members of the present family.
We are passionate about the area in which we live and the quality of life here and take pleasure in all the social aspects it affords. Consequently we are keen to ensure that our guests get the most out of their stay with us and come to love both Cornwall and Devon as we do.
